Steps to create the best wood chair for your kid
Follow the steps to create the most wonderful chair for your little one.
Step 1: The first step is to assemble your chair and put your creativity to test. However, before that measure those areas of the chair that you want to cover with the paper.
Step 2: Start painting your chair. The chairs legs should be painted with the terracotta shade to add this fresh look to the chair. Paint the crossbars with the coffee bean shade. The seat should be painted with the Greenscape shade. Make sure that you apply at least apply two coats and allow the chair to dry.
Step 3: While your chair is drying up, simply start cutting your paper. The best idea will be to cover the bottom and top slats of the chair with the paper. Make it a point to cover the slats that are underneath the chair and the five seat slats with the paper as well.
This is how you will lay out the paper so that it fits well. If you feel the need for any trimming just go for it.
Step 4: Time to put the Mod Podge to use. It is better to work on one piece at a time. Spread the Mod Podge over the chair seat slat. Just apply a medium layer.
Step 5: The most important step is to smooth down the paper. Smooth till you see that there are no air bubbles. You have to apply the Mod Podge on every piece of paper you will use. Let everything dry up for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 6: Now it is time to coat the paper top with Mod Podge as well. Always work in stages. When you work on an area allow it to dry up and then move to another. The best thing to do is to coat your entire chair with the Mod Podge after you are done coating your paper. Allow the chair to dry overnight that will be best.
Step 7: Apply the stickers and rubons as per your wish. Put the rubons in a random pattern on the front of the chair. To seal the rubons coat them with Mod Podge.
Step 8: It is now time to put the wooden balls to use. They can be painted and you can put polka dots on them. Making Polka dots is easy. Just dip your brush’s edge into ivory white paint and touch the wood ball. Make sure to seal the balls with Mod Podge too.
Step 9: Glue the balls to the chair and let the chair dry up for 24 hours.
Try out this technique for designing your kid’s chair and you will be happy with the outcome.
